Christ Church Cathedral in the Square will be the venue for
"Celebrating Kate Sheppard - from Suffrage to Seeking a New Spirit"
The gathering of people of all faiths or none will celebrate women
· who have moved and shaken Christchurch and beyond
· put a spotlight on work still to be done with women who experience barriers in our city
· seek a renewed vision and solidarity with those who work to reduce these barriers for women
Bishop Victoria Matthews will speak about "Seeking a New Spirit"
Women's groups from Te Wai Pounamou, St Paul's Trinity Pacific, Korea and Africa will participate in the gathering alongside the Girl Guides, YWCA, Youth Club members and school choirs.
Following the Service there will be a Shared Finger Food Tea and Entertainment until 7:30pm at the Canterbury Women's Hall, 190 Worcester Street.
