Hassan Haji Ibrahim: Building Bridges Between Muslim and Non-Muslim Communities in New Zealand
Institute Building, 17 Kirkwood Avenue, Ilam
Hassan Haji Ibrahim is a former refugee from Somalia who arrived in New Zealand in 1998. He completed a M.Phil degree from Massey University in International Development and is currently reading for a PhD at the University of Canterbury in Education. Since 2000 he has been Regional Refugee Education Co-ordinator for the Southern Region and vice-chairman of the Christchurch Refugee Migrant Centre.
Rafaa Antoun, who died at the end of December 2008, aged 42, was well known, loved and respected in the local community. She was an active voluntary worker in the field of interfaith, multicultural and women’s issues, to mention but a few of her commitments. To perpetuate her memory the Christchurch Interfaith Council has decided to hold an annual memorial lecture to focus on issues which were dear to her heart. The first lecture was delivered by Dr Jonathan Inkpin in June 2009.
This lecture is free and open to the public. All are welcome.

Innovation is everywhere, personally I am also a fan of innovation, no matter in studies, technologies, science, beauty, fashion (but it should be good for human kind an "world).
