The Christchurch Interfaith Society is a voluntary non-profit association of persons representing the diversity of religious communities existing in Christchurch. Its purpose is to foster understanding and good relations, to co-ordinate action, and to mediate between those communities, and to liase with other organisations. The Society regularly elects the Christchurch Inter-Faith Council.

Christchurch Interfaith Tour

An endeavour of the Christchurch Ethnic Council, the Interfaith Tour is an occasional event that brings visitors to experience the houses of worship of different faiths. This tour will visit the Roman Catholic Cathedral, the Thai Buddhist Temple and another location to be announced.

Meet at The Buddhist Temple at 12 30 p.m. 359 Marshlands Road
Bus departs for the Roman Catholic Cathedral at 12 40 p.m. Arrives 1.p.m.
Bus departs 2. p.m. For Rehua Marae (Ratana Church) Springfield Road
Bus departs 3.15.p.m. For Buddhist Temple 359 marshlands Roadq
Tour concludes aprox. 4.30 p.m

A gold coin donation would be appreciated at each venue. No shorts or short dresses please.

Public Meeting with Political Candidates

A forum with representatives from the different political parties on the topic of religious diversity, how it affects your life as refugees & migrants, and its effect on New Zealand society. Make sure not to miss this meeting, as it will also be your chance to ask any other questions related to diversity and how it fits into New Zealand Society. Speakers will include Ruth Dyson (Labour), Kennedy Graham (Green), Craig Hutchinshon (Progressive) and Nicky Wagner (National).
